we’ve been having such a great time with the kids this summer. our new craft project is faux stained glass…aka corn syrup + food coloring. relatively little mess and a WHOLE lot of fun!
(1) mix corn syrup and a couple drops of food coloring in a small jar or dish (baby food jars work great)…just start with a tablespoon or two…you don’t need much!
(2) grab a cardstock sheet and outline a design in crayon…think hearts, butterfly, flower, tree, etc…simple pimple!
(3) let the kids paint with watercolor brushes. the “paint” will resist the crayon…very impressive!
(4) show kids how you can start with one color paint, then add another color to make a NEW color. good lesson in additive color!
